I had a truly amazing time at this small, intimate Quebec City wedding. It was my first time visiting the city, and it certainly did not disappoint. Everywhere you turned, the streets were full of charm – historic buildings bursting at the seams with florals climbing the walls, unique art installations and decor hanging above you as you strolled Petit Champlain, and of course, the magnificent and stunning Chateau Frontenac. That was where I met up with the beautiful bride of the day, and where we would return for an incredibly delicious gourmet meal set amongst the classic and rich decor of the Frontenac’s library with the couples very nearest and dearest.
We got to go on a lovely walk to get to the ceremony site, and the precocious and hilarious twin flower girls were more than eager to help carry Jacqui’s beautiful train for her as we made our way through a lovely park and down beautiful streets before arriving to the site where her groom-to-be was waiting. And what a beautiful place to pledge your love! The ceremony looked out over the gorgeous waterfront with the Chateau Frontenac towering over the scene in the distance. Locals and tourists alike who were spending time on the hill in the park behind the ceremony cheered their approval once the vows were exchanged and seemed thrilled to have gotten to witness something so lovely and for them, unexpected!
It was such an honour to be brought along on this special occasion with Jacqui and Mario. After a hard year for them, seeing them come together in love and strength with a small group of those who meant the most to them was truly touching. Knowing that they have each other to lean on in times of strength and in times of weakness and seeing everything they were able to accomplish to pull of this absolutely stunning wedding in such a short time was a testament to the mountains they can overcome as a couple as they move through this life together.
