Sunday was a perfect day.  We woke up to the snow falling slowly in large, puffy flakes.  The soft light of the overcast day illuminated the fresh coating of untouched white that had blanketed our quiet street.  After a warm and way too large breakfast, we took off for the woods and a photo date with one of my nearest and dearest – Mandy.

If you’re lucky in this life, you get friends who want to trudge through knee deep snow, climb through branches and fallen trees, and sit on the freezing ground for you, all in the name of a pretty photo.  If you’re especially lucky, you get to have these friends for 25 years and going strong.  I guess I’m just that lucky.

The great thing about having a wonderful husband who is fascinated with photography and wants to learn to second shoot with you?  It means I get pretty pictures of myself on these adventures, taken by a man who I can tell is going to be a pro at this sooner than later.  I edited these guys myself, but that will be up soon on his to-learn schedule!

Sometimes your back home from your adventure in the woods, but those trees in your laneway are just too pretty to not snap a couple of photos in front of.  And while you’re knee deep in snow shooting your husband amongst said trees, your neighbours head down the laneway and catch you in the act, and it produces your fave image of your handsome husband. <3
