Local Food Week in Northumberland County | Northumberland Lifestyle + Food PhotographyLifestyle and food photography in Northumberland County and the Greater Toronto Area

I absolutely love the small town I live in.  Port Hope is such a charming place, and that’s not all based on the fact that I grew up here as a third generation Port Hoper!  In fact, the house that my husband and I live in was built by my grandfather, who raised my mom and her sister there. My mom went on to take over the house and raise my brother and I in it, and now my husband and I call it home.  So… clearly I’m a fan of my town.  And the area surrounding it is just as amazing.  I also absolutely love lifestyle and food photography, so this shoot was a match made in heaven for me! This past week I spent some time around Northumberland County (it’s bigger than you think!), stopping in to do some quick photos at some wonderful restaurants that are participating in Local Food Week in June.  Put on by the amazing folks of the Cultivate Festival – these restaurants will all be providing meal options that are solely sourced from local vendors and farms.  The week rounds up with a big bash out at Burnham Family Market.  If you guys love food (like me!), small town charm (check!), and summer time vibes (who doesnt?!), you should swing by my neck of the woods to check it out.  (I also hear a young entrepreneur may be selling homemade cotton candy – just saying!).

Our first stop was The Mill.  A staple in Cobourg, there’s something for everyone here.  If you’re a golfer, you can come out for a round before sitting down for a delicious meal and drink.

We grabbed a bite to eat in Warkworth at Our Lucky Stars.  This place was full of small town charm.  The bright yellow decor, marquee stars in the windows, and homemade dressings, granolas, and other delicious goodies for sale had me over the moon.  My salad was simple and delicious with a homemade maple dijon dressing, and my travel partners’ sammies looks positively scrumptious!  This is a must visit.  Not to mention, Warkworth’s downtown is just too picturesque! Be sure to stop by.
