Caitlin and Isaac’s Penryn Mansion wedding is one that I won’t soon forget. They are two of the sweetest people you could hope to meet, and to work with! Upon arriving at their home, I was greeting by the sounds of Dr. Dre playing on the turntable and the groomsmens’ chatter as they prepared for the day to come. They were all so laid back and welcoming – no nerves to speak of! I think they all knew what a great match Caitlin and Isaac were for each other and there was nothing but excitement for the party to come! Once the adorable baby Jack was adorned in his best cap and cardigan and ready to witness his parents become husband and wife, a celebratory drink with the father of the bride got everyone ready to head out for the day. Arriving at the mansion, the girls were just as relaxed as their male counterparts had been. Finishing touches were put on, jewelry passed down through generations was clasped and perfectly placed. Old friends arrived for big hugs and laughs. As we ventured outside, a light mist had just begun to fall, but everyone took it in stride and their outdoor ceremony was given an extra ethereal quality with the softness of the moisture in the air. Afterwards, Caitlin and Isaac took little heed of the rain and were ready to adventure with me for photos despite it! We took off in golf carts and headed to giant metal train bridges, hidden alcoves amongst tall trees, and little pops of fall colour throughout the grounds. We got wet, dirty, and maybe a little chilly. But no complaints were uttered – we were all in the moment, enjoying the beauty of their misty fall wedding day. I am so grateful that they didn’t let a little dampness limit the adventures of their day! As the bride joked about her now slightly ombré dress, we arrived back to mingle with guests under the tent with warm food and drinks. The rest of the evening involved touching speeches that brought on many tears and laughs, hoola hoop contests, delicious desserts and cake made by friends of the bride and groom, and a emotional serenade from Isaac to Caitlin. It was a wonderful day full of amazing people that I am glad I got to be a small part of. Enjoy their story below!
